A forensic video expert has denied that images in the video allegedly showing R Kelly having sex with an underage girl could have been faked.
George Skaluba, a Forensic Video Examiner with the US Federal Bureau of Investigation, said he believed the tape showed "real people in a real environment", according to the Associated Press news agency.
The I Believe I Can Fly star is accused of filming himself engaging in sex acts with a girl who prosecutors say may have been as young as 13 at the time.
And after a former employee of the singer said she was "110 per cent" sure that the footage in question showed the R 'n' B hitmaker, Skaluba said the likelihood of the tape having been digitally altered was slim.
"It would be very, very time consuming and very hard to do," Skaluba said.
However, he stressed that the tape was "a copy, several generations away from the original" and said he could not say whether than man seen in the video was Kelly or a lookalike.
The trial was adjourned on Thursday after prosecutors requested more time to interview a potential defence witness before his testimony.
The as-yet-unknown man is alleged to have contacted Kelly's defence team claiming he could impeach the testimony of a prosecution witness.
Before the adjournment, video expert Grant Fredericks had shown the jury potentially incriminating freeze frames from the video.
Kelly's lawyer Samuel Adam Jr had said that while Kelly has a "significant" coin-sized mole on his back - going so far as to show the jury pictures of the singer's blemish - the man in the footage did not appear to have a mole.
However, Fredericks compared a still photo taken of Kelly's back, which showed the mole, with frames from the footage which showed a dark spot in the same position.
The trial continues.

The Hoosiers frontman Irwin Sparkes says he wants the band's second album to have "more balls" than their debut number one album The Trick To Life.
"The whole sound and production has got to change," says Sparkes. "We are thinking it has got to have some more edge and more balls and even sound like a live band.
"With the next album we want to explore more of what this current album hasn't got -- edge."
Drummer Al Sharlando added, "If we came back with a second album and sounded like Queens of The Stone Age then people will slate you, so there has to be a balance.
"We want to have a long career and change gradually, keep it interesting. "
However, despite the band's success, they won't be going wild with their cash.
Irwin, 26, added, "My mate is trying to get me to buy a Lamborghini, but then I was trying to tell him that I haven't got the money.
"I think it would also be ridiculous to buy a car like that and think: 'Well done - Ethiopia could have eaten for a day, but instead I'm driving this.'
"It would be hard to justify."
